This spoke to me on so many levels. During the last few years of my healing journey, I have felt frustrated and stuck. I wanted to move forward and heal from my trauma. I did all the things you mention here. But deep down, I felt like the key was to real healing was not about learning as much as it is about remembering.

Your book feels like the missing piece; the foundation that was there all along under all the other layers. Now that I get it, I see how to better relate and communicate with my spouse so that we can both give a yes answer to each other's primal question without compromise.

So GOOD!! I have used "broken" as a term to describe how I felt, not as a label. However, you have inspired me to change that use of description moving forward. Thanks Mike!

I read the bulk of this to my counselor yesterday. She said it's a more eloquent version of what she's been trying to get me to see. Tears streamed down my face after she asked application questions pertinent to my story. She then assigned me to read this multiple times before next Thursday's therapy session. Thank you for this gift of this article.
