Mike, you're an amazing person, gifted and generous. Thank you for sharing a bit about your writing philosophy and experience. Your ability to simplify the complex and provide a push has been so beneficial to me. And congrats on 300k! Keep going.
So good! Always love your unique perspective as it relates to your experiences. Appreciate you and your continued encouragement towards growth and getting it done!
What a timely message of inspiration and coaching, Mike! I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to learn from you and the connections made through the Primal Question framework. Keep doing what you are doing!
Great guidance, Mike. Genuinely excellent! Additionally, unless you are already famous or have a kazillion social media followers, it’s almost impossible to find a traditional publisher to be interested in your manuscript. Skip the heart-crushing traditional publisher disinterest and self-publish!
P.S. Attend Mike’s “Become a Successful Author” workshop. Because when self-publishing is done right, (and Mike will teach you the best practices) self-publishing is FAR more profitable than the traditional publishing route.
Mike, I'm grateful to have helped you execute on this for over 10+ years. I'm happy to help others understand and navigate the self-publishing world, from design and printing to fulfillment.
scott! you have been soooo critical in all of this. it’s been a profound joy working with you the past decade. your insights, strategies and operational excellence has been key. without you, none of this happens. grateful for you helping me and other authors strategically get our ideas out there! 🙌🏻
Thank you for saying this! I always thought that NYT best selling books only mean that you are really good at SELLING, not necessarily at writing! As a self published author, I appreciate your encouragement and agree with your 5 lessons!
On point for me today. I’ve been putting off continuing writing for many reasons, but fear, the unknown, being the main one. I have to remind myself to trust Him and not lean on my limited understanding.
Thank you Mike. This is great advice and makes me feel a lot better about the book I self published last year. It was not perfect, but it is out there and to and for my children, primarily, but I opened it up to others guiding those that are coming of age. Thank you!

Mike, this is EXACTLY what I needed help me keep putting the words on the page. Perfect has been the enemy of progress. Your guidance is simple, clear and actionable. Thank you!
Poop or get off the pot - thanks! Ok seriously though, as a self-published author myself, I agree with everything you shared here! But it’s not as easy as “just write it.” In fact, I’d even dare to challenge the ability to finish with the author’s primal question. I’m curious if the author takes time to get the purpose of his or her book aligned with their primal question and answer in such a way that resounds to the other questions as well. Mike, this could be a great resource for self-publishing! Just sayin’!
Mike - I'm in the process of doing just that. I wrote 365 short devotionals over 4 years and now I am rewriting, editing and laying them out in a software program. And will use KDP from Amazon. It's a larger project than I imagined. And taking me longer than I thought. But I will be so proud and thankful to God when it's out in print.
Thank you Mike for the encouragement email. Yes, I need to write the book or stop talking about it!
🙌🏻🙏🏻 let’s go! 🎉
Thank you for the encouragement, Mike!

Thank you for this article Mike. You've released me from yet another Primal Avoidance (Q5) that's kept me from doing what I've often dreamed about.

"Done is better than perfect" is perfect! So many times, I see people searching for perfection and they're never done. Thanks.
BTW, I just got done with my second novel!

thanks fanny! i’m always thrilled for my friends and other authors when they hit a “best sellers list” but that should never be the point imho.
